Ann Middleton
VeterinarianDr. Ann Middleton has been the owner of Cheshire Cat Feline Health Center since 1999. She is very passionate about her feline patients’ health and well-being, striving to address each and every issue. From kittenhood until passing, each cat’s individual needs are assessed, and recommendations are made.
Dr. Middleton always liked medicine, but after losing her hearing from spinal meningitis at age 10, she decided to lean towards veterinary medicine. She raised animals in the 4-H, volunteered at a local veterinary hospital, attended UC San Diego, and then U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She has a cochlear implant and communicates very well. Her early years in practice were in Los Angeles and Oakhurst, where she cared for cats, dogs, and sometimes wildlife.
She has volunteered with the Baja Animal Sanctuary and the Feral Cat Coalition. She is currently a member of:

- California Veterinary Medical Association
- San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association
- American Association of Feline Practitioners
- American Veterinary Dental Society
Outside of her office, she spends time with her husband, 3 cats, chickens, parakeets, and a gentle thoroughbred.

Ashley Young
VeterinarianDr. Ashley Young decided to become a veterinarian to make a positive impact on the lives of both people and animals. At an early age, she developed an admiration for cats as her family cared for a local feral cat colony and fostered many litters of abandoned kittens.
She is a San Diego native and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, San Diego, where she studied biology and psychology. She then obtained her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of California, Davis. As a student, she was president of the Feline Medicine Club and worked to arrange numerous educational opportunities for fellow students.
She's even fostered many litters of orphaned neonatal kittens and has worked with several feral trap-neuter/spay-release programs. She utilizes gentle handling techniques to make veterinary visits less stressful for fearful feline patients. Dr. Young values both the physical and mental well-being of her feline patients and has a special interest in behavior and dentistry.
Dr. Young lives in San Diego with her husband and an unspecified number of cats. Her husband is also an avid feline enthusiast and is the proud recipient of the "Crazy Cat Person" award at his place of employment. In her spare time, Dr. Young likes to take advantage of the good weather and go kayaking and hiking. She also enjoys taking her cat "Pearl" on leashed walks and hikes.
